FONT-TahomaIMG IMGFONTMixed martial arts star Ronda Rousey will not face off against her friend and former training partner Ellenberger in the main event of this Saturdays UFC 160 event. Against Holly Holm, the current womens bantamweight champion. Holm, 10-0, has won her past three bouts, including a first-round knockout of former opponent Cat Zingano last month, according to USA TODAY Sports. Zingano was also on the short list to face Rousey for the womens bantamweight title, which Holm won in April. Holm, 6-0 24, will defend her title against Miesha Tate, 12-2 who defended her title against Sara McMann at UFC Fight Night 35 on Jan. If Holm wins, itll be the first time since Rousey defeated her by TKO in November 2012 that shes not defended her title. And while Rouseys return to the cage against Sara McMann was a blockbuster event on its own, Holm may hold all the cards. Rousey, the UFCs womens bantamweight champion for five years, hasnt fought since dropping a title fight against Tate last November. Shes been dealing with an ongoing lawsuit from her former manager, Edmond Tarverdyan, since she had a falling out with him on in November. Rousey and Holm are friends, after all, they trained together before she became a star but their pasts have been intertwined in the media quite a bit. While Rouseys most recent loss was against another womens bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey fought Holm in the Strikeforce cage before she went on to be the UFCs first female pay-per-view star, beating Tate by first-round submission. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore Wednesday told a different story. Its one that includes some of Merkleys Democratic colleagues. This is an issue that really bothers me and I dont want to leave here without a strong response from the senator, said Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill. No matter how much money you make. Merkley, whose district includes the city of Portland, told The Independent hes spoken with the mayor, police chief and other officials in Portland and wants to address the issue with them when he visits.
