Emmerdale actress Charley Webb wears the trousers at home when it comes to raising her three children with husband Mathew Wolfenden. The soap star, who is best known for playing Debbie Dingle in the long-running ITV show, is mum to Buster, 10, Bowie, five, and Ace, one.

When asked who takes control in their relationship during a new interview, Charley was quick to reveal that it was most definitely her.

“Oh, me, no question,” she admitted.

“I wear the trousers in every aspect of the family and the house.”

“I wear the chef’s apron,” Matthew, who also stars in Yorkshire soap opera, added.

“If it wasn’t for me, no one would get fed!” the father-of-three told old OK! magazine.

He went on to say that his wife would prefer him to discipline their children more, as it was the thing they argued about.

The David Metcalfe actor said he would rather play with his sons and be their “best mate”, leaving the telling off to Charley.

She admitted that being the disciplinarian made her feel like she had four kids instead.

“When I say we only argue because of the kids, it’s because I try to be their best mate and Charley is on at me to discipline them,” Matthew explained.

“But I like being their mate and messing around with them.

“It’ a nightmare – it’s like having four children!” the actress exclaimed.

Charley and Matthew, who tied the knot on February 10, 2018, celebrated three years of marriage this week.

The mum-of-three, who regularly shares regular home life updates on Instagram, took to the picture-sharing site to mark the occasion.

She spoke about the “reality of marriage” on their anniversary, as she sat in her comfy clothes watching the television.

Charley also joked that the actor was on the phone to his “other wife” in another room.

He was in fact talking to their co-star Rokhsaneh (Roxy) Shahidi, who also stars in Emmerdale as Leyla Harding.

“The reality of marriage and especially when you’ve been with someone for such a long time,” the 32-year-old told her 492,000 followers.

“Matthew’s on the phone to his other wife Rokhsaneh and he has been for ages.

“I am just sitting on the sofa watching TV in my hood.”
