Emma Watson Made a Rare Red Carpet Appearance in an Upcycled Bridal Gown

Emma Watson is sparing with her red carpet appearances, but when she does step out … Well, it's sure to be memorable.

On Sunday, the Harry Potter alum attended the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in London, walking her first carpet since the Dec. 2019 premiere of Little Women.

Watson arrived at the event in what can best be described as an optical illusion gown. The voluminous tulle Harris Reed piece, upcycled from old wedding dresses (!), appears to be a flowy full-length gown from one angle:

But then, Watson moves to the side and EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED. Pants! Boots! The foundation of our sartorial reality: shaken

Oh, but yet another transformation awaits … The Bling Ring star posed to spotlight the gown's back and subsequently revealed that ah, it doesn't exist!

In addition to the dress (or is it a top?) and flared trousers, Reed designed Watson's jewelry as well, outfitting the actress in pearl-adorned golden drop earrings and matching rings and bracelets.

Watson wore her golden-brown bob in tousled waves, the left side pinned neatly back to showcase her earrings.

The Earthshot Prize (created by Prince William) is an annual ceremony that awards funding to those proposing solutions to combat the effects of climate change. Each of this year's five winners was given the U.S.-dollar equivalent of about $1.4 million.
