Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing final was rocked with controversy when fans claimed they spotted finalist Gorka Marquez with a “fuming face” when Hamza Yassin was crowned winner of the popular dance series.

It comes after eagle-eyed viewers claimed that the professional dancer, who was paired with BBC presenter Helen Skelton, had an annoyed expression on his face when the winners’ names were announced.

Fans of the popular pair quickly flocked to social media to express their shock at the “slight” on the overjoyed champion.

One viewer posted that Gorka looked like a “sore loser” after missing out on getting the winning spot .

Another agreed: “Gorka did look like a sore loser tonight. Shame cos I love him usually.”

However, some of Gorka’s fans were quick to defend him and any potential disappointment he felt at the result.

One fan wrote: “Gorka is fuming and rightly so! Helen has won in so many ways. Good on her and she is my winner.”

Another said: “Gorka is absolutely fuming and rightly so.”

While a third added: “What do you look like when you’ve been robbed?”

However, Gorka batted away claims that he was a bad loser and posted a lengthy tribute praising the show, contestants, and the eventual winner on his Instagram page.

He wrote ”Big congratulations!! to the @bbcstrictly champions @jowitaprzystal @hamzayassin90.

“You guys have been amazing the whole series and deserve it.

“Congrats to the other couples in the Final @vitocoppola @fleureast @gkx_carlos @mollyrainford it has been a pleasure to share the floor with you guys.”
