Michael Bublé, 46, has admitted that he suffered terribly after his and wife’s son, Noah, 7, was diagnosed with cancer in 2016. The singer has said that his wife “picked him up” following the ordeal.

Michael spoke on Carpool Karaoke to James Corden in 2018 about the whole experience.

The Grammy Award-winner told the presenter that he was initially the glue holding the family together, but his wife Luisana quickly took over that role.

“When this all started, I became the strength to somehow pull us and lift us and to be positive,” the 43-year-old said.

“When they got [the cancer] out and the chemo was done and they said, ‘We did it, it’s good, he’s okay,’ I fell.

“I just fell. My wife picks me up now.”

The couple received the devastating news about son Noah back in 2016.

Noah was only three-years-old at the time when he was diagnosed with liver cancer.

While he has since improved, Michael still struggles to talk about it.

The star said: “It’s so hard to have to acknowledge it because it’s so painful to talk about.”

“We got the diagnosis and that was it, man, my whole life ended.”

The singer teared up while explaining to James how he told his son about how he was a real-life superhero.

He said that he told Noah that while “Spiderman is amazing”, that Noah is a “real superhero”, calling him “my hero.”

The Canadian told Stellar Magazine that since Noah has started recovering, his and Luisana’s relationship has “never been better.”

He said that “food never tasted so good”, adding that he “fell in love again.”

Michael also explained that the experience made them see “the very worst and also the best of each other.”

The couple have another son, born in 2016, and a daughter who was born in July 2018.

Back in April 2020, the songwriter explained to Graham Norton how he and Luisana weren’t doing well with homeschooling the kids during lockdown.

It came as the musician was holed up in his Vancouver home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

He admitted on the talk show that he wasn’t pleased by the amount of time his children spent on their iPads and watching TV.

Asked about how he was coping with homeschooling, he explained: “We are doing it, but I am not great at it.

“We are adapting and I’m learning new things; I felt guilty about the kids being on their iPads or watching TV until I muted the screen and turned the subtitles on and now, they are kind of reading – I killed two birds.”

Michael Buble’s Christmas in the City airs tonight on ITV at 10.35pm.
