Jesy Nelson has reportedly postponed the release of her debut solo single in order for P Diddy to make a cameo in the video.

The debut single, titled Boyz, is said to have been delayed due to "unforeseen circumstances", meaning fans will have to wait a little while longer before getting to hear the eagerly awaited track that samples P Diddy's classic Bad Boy 4 Life.

It has been claimed that the delay is in order for P Diddy himself to make an appearance in the upcoming video for the track.

A source speaking to The Sun said: “Boyz has been pushed back by a couple of weeks due to unforeseen circumstances but it now means that P Diddy himself will make a cameo in the clip, which is incredible for Jesy.”

Jesy is seemingly pulling out all the stops to make her debut perfect, with the source adding: “Jesy is determined for everything to be perfect and won’t cut corners when it comes to the release.

"The delay is not ideal as they had already started teasing the track on her socials, but Jesy and the team are making things work. Jesy is making the final touches to the video and it will be worth the wait.

“The track is still planned to drop next month, though the second half is more likely – especially as releasing on September 10 would put her up against Ed Sheeran’s next single, so she wouldn’t stand a chance when it comes to the charts.”

OK! has contacted both Jesy and P Diddy's representatives for comment.

The new track was reportedly set to compete with new music from Little Mix, Jesy’s former band consisting of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall.

While Jesy had previously left Little Mix to focus on her mental health and career outside of a girl group, she held no negative feelings towards her former bandmates in her exit post.

Posting about her departure to Instagram, she finished: "Most of all I want to say thank you to Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne for creating some of the most amazing memories I'll never forget.

"I hope that you'll continue to fulfil all of your dreams and keep making music that people love."
