Mariah Carey Delivers Dazzling Remote Performance For ‘Rise Up New York!’
Mariah Carey turned in a stellar performance on Monday night, when she showed up for “Rise Up New York!” a virtual show that benefits the citizens of the city severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Carey, who was among some of the top stars who participated in the one-hour show, started the event with a mashup of her 2002 hit “Through the Rain” and 1991’s “Make It Happen.”
“New York, I know we’re strong enough to get through this. We will rise again. We can do this together,” she said about her hometown before delving into the performance.
She performed from her home and was accompanied by three backup singers from their respective homes.
The benefit, presented by the New York-based poverty fighting organization Robin Hood and iHeartMedia, was hosted by Tina Fey.
Jennifer Lopez and Alicia Keys were among the other top artists featured in the show.
