Meghan would be ‘well suited to go into politics’ as shes ‘missed having a voice’
Meghan Markle finished her career in acting after tying the knot with Prince Harry and her latest big venture could be on the horizon as a royal royal expert said she would be "well suited" for politics.
The Duchess of Sussex has been linked to US politics on a number of occasions as she attempts to find her own career path since stepping down from her royal duties alongside husband Prince Harry three years ago. Just recently, Meghan was rumoured to be linked to the vacant Senate hot seat following the death of Dianne Feinstein last week.
Before marrying into royalty, Meghan had a successful acting career starring in the Netflix series Suits where she played the role of Rachel Zane from 2010 until 2018. Her last episode from the hit series was aired just a month before her royal wedding to the duke on 19 May 2018 and Meghan said goodbye to acting altogether.
While some wondered if Meghan would ever return to acting, others have slated her at the possibility of heading into politics. But royal expert Tessa Dunlop exclusively told OK! that Meghan could "potentially" have a "big future" in politics.
The historian, writer and broadcaster said: "I think Meghan is more likely to go into politics than acting.
"She would be well suited for politics, she's always been something of a campaigner, you might find it hypocritical, you might not believe in it, but she's always been slightly left of centre.
"Even at the age of 11, she was telling the world about equality and gender equality.
"She very much sees herself as a woman who likes to talk through to power, we know that she did that within the Royal Family, whether you approve of the style in which she did it or not.
"I think she clearly quite likes having a voice and I think she missed having a voice when she was in the Royal Family – it's one of the reasons why she was unhappy."
Tess continued: "Even when she was hugely high in the ratings, and we saw in the Tig website, it wasn't quite enough for her. I think she likes beyond being an actress, that idea of belonging, pushing the envelope forward.
"If she plays her cards right, she potentially has a big future."
"Once all the dust settles around them, moaning about the Royal Family or whatever, I think she can move forward on her own terms, she's got very big celebrities and a potentially large reach", the royal expert concluded.
Following Meghan's success on the hit Netflix series Suits, Harry claimed in his incendiary memoir Spare that he made the awkward error of checking out his future wife's intimate scenes with Suits co-star Patrick J. Adams. "I'd made the mistake of googling and watching some of her love scenes online," Harry wrote in his memoir Spare, which hit shelves to much uproar earlier this year.
"I'd witnessed her and a cast mate mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room… It would take electric shock therapy to get those images out of my head. I didn't need to see such things live."
