Phillip Schofield axed from another project following This Morning scandal
Philip Schofield has yet again been booted from a project that he was involved in following his admission to having an affair with a much younger male colleague.
The This Morning presenter, who sensationally left the programme and ITV earlier this year, has now been axed from The Cube Live in Manchester.
The attraction, which opened in February 2022, saw Philip, 61, welcome participants in a video and explain how the attraction works.
However, he's now been replaced by Colin McFarlane who did voiceovers for the series.
An insider at the experience said: “Phillip has been completely erased.
“Bosses at The Cube Live don’t want to be associated with him in the light of recent events.”
This marks another blow to the presenter’s career as it was recently announced that another This Morning regular would be joining his former co-host and friend, Holly Willoughby, on the This Morning sofa once she returned from her extended summer break.
There is currently an investigation going on within the broadcaster, with Holly cooperating with authorities as she has "nothing to hide".
An insider told The Sun: "Eamonn has extensive knowledge of the atmosphere at This Morning and has said before he thought Phil’s affair was 'covered up'
"He and Ruth were working on the show while it was going on. The fact he’s not been approached is leading to confusion as he could be key in helping engender change at ITV."
In his statement, Philip called his affair “unwise but not illegal” and apologised for lying to his loved ones.
"Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.
"That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over. When I chose to come out I did so entirely for my own wellbeing. Nobody 'forced' me out.
"I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family.
"I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife.
"I will reflect on my very bad judgement in both participating in the relationship and then lying about it.”
In her statement before she left the show for the summer, Holly told viewers: “It feels very strange sitting here without Phil and I imagine you might be feeling a lot like I have – shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what's been going on, and full of questions.
"You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.
"I hope that as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.
"And from my own heart, can I just say thank you for all of your kind messages and thank you for being here this morning.
"Myself, Josie, Dermot, Alison and Craig and every single person on this show will continue to work hard every single day to bring you the show that we love."
