Piers Morgan brands Adele a pampered prima donna over cancelled Las Vegas gigs

Piers Morgandidn't hold back when offering his thoughts on Adele's decision to cancel her Las Vegas residency just days before it was scheduled to start.

The songstressannounced last week in an emotional video that the show wouldn't be going ahead, telling her 49 million Instagram followers: “It ain’t ready.”

”I'm so sorry but my show ain't ready," she confessed in the clip.

“We've tried absolutely everything that we can to pull it together in time and for it to be good enough for you but we've been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid."

Despite her evident heartbreak at having to cancel, Piers has hit out at the Easy On Me singer and branded her a “pampered prima donna”.

Discussing 33 year old Adele’s fans’ disappointment, Piers penned forThe Sun: “They believed in her because she was a working-class girl who treated them as equals.

“But now she has morphed into just another staggeringly rich, privileged, pampered prima donna who thinks it’s fine to pull the plug on months of shows at a moment’s notice because she can’t get everything she demands."

“The show didn’t go on for Adele — last seen on British TV a few weeks ago lapping up nauseatingly sycophantic compliments from a drooling celebrity audience — because her ego is now writing cheques her fans couldn’t even dream of cashing,” he continued.

Piers went on to describe Adele’s last minute cancellation as “a disgrace”.

The TV journalist isn’t the only one who isn’t happy with Adele, as many devoted fans who paid thousands to jet to Las Vegasto see her aren’t best pleased either.

As well as flight costs, tickets for her show are thought to have ranged from $85, to an eye-watering $12,000. It's believed that Adele was set to make a staggering£500,000 per show.

Disgruntled fans took to social media to express their disappointment.

"Not Adele rescheduling after already buying plane tickets, show tickets & getting a hotel room," one person tweeted.

Someone else wrote: "Super bummed that Adele has postponed all of her shows in Las Vegas. I've already spent $1200 between airfare, hotel, and the concert tickets. Not to mention vacation time from work."

Meanwhile, others accused the Someone Like You singer of “crocodile tears” in what appeared to be a heartfelt statement she issued on Instagram.
