Prince Charles has only met his youngest grandchild Archie Mountbatten-Windsor twice, according to reports.
The 72 year old shared a gorgeous image of himself proudly looking at Prince Harry's son, taken at the tot's July 2019 christening, to wish him a happy second birthday earlier this week.
However, some royal fans were left wondering why members of the family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, used out of date stock images of Archie in their public birthday messages to him.
But it has now been claimed that Archie has only met the British members of his family a number of times, with Charles having no up to date images with the toddler.
It is also said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge can count their meetings with Archie "easily on one hand."
As for meetings with his cousins Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, it is thought they have only met Archie once.
A source told MailOnline: "The truth is the Prince of Wales has barely seen his grandson twice since he was born.
"In fact every member of Harry's family can easily count on one hand the number of times they saw Archie after he was born and before the family left the UK. It's a very sad situation."
A separate insider told the publication: "The fact Buckingham Palace and the other royal households posted something so publicly when they are no longer working royals is clearly a sign every effort is being made, on their behalf at least, to try and retain and nurture a relationship with Harry and Meghan, however fragile."
The reports come after it was reported that Prince Harry and his brother Prince William have been embroiled in their feud "for a year and a half" — the majority of Archie's life.

ITV newsreader and friend of the Royal family, Tom Bradbury, told The Times of the brothers' relationship: "Well, it used to be quite a straightforward thing, right, because they weren't arguing and life was simple.
"And then it just slowly descended into something that was difficult – personally and publicly – really over the past year and a half."
Tom added that the atmosphere between Harry and William is "febrile", even as they reunited for Prince Philip's funeral last month – where the siblings were pictured walking and talking together.

The journalist added that he is being "a bit self-protective" of what he says about the brothers, after he revealed Harry was "heartbroken" over his fallout earlier this year.
Speaking on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, Tom, who attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018, said of Prince Harry: "I think they are content, the things they are doing they are quite excited by.
"I think Harry is heartbroken. You don't necessarily need to have the knowledge to know that, but I think it is true."
