Princess Andre on dad Peter Andre – My dad is protective, but I understand why

With famous parents Princess Andre has grown up in the celebrity spotlight, but the 16-year-old admits her dad keeps a watchful eye over her – and she appreciates his reasons.

Speaking exclusively to OK!, Princess revealed she runs her social media post past her parents if she feels one of them may not approve. She adds her dad is “protective” over his daughters, which also includes Princess’ younger sister, Amelia, who Pete, 50, shares with wife Emily MacDonagh, 34.

Princess says, “Obviously my dad is going to be protective over his daughters. But now that I’m older I kind of understand a bit more about what he’s saying, so it’s not really a problem. I’ll always respect what my parents say.”

She adds, “If it’s something I want to post, but I think one of my parents won’t want me to, I’ll always ask for permission because that’s the respectful thing to do.

“If it’s something funny or something I think is good, then I’ll just post it, but otherwise I usually check with my parents.”

In June, Pete admitted he’s an ‘overprotective dad’.

Speaking about Princess dating her first boyfriend, Pete said that he was getting “really stressed out at the thought.”

Confessing he’s an 'overprotective dad', the Mysterious Girl singer also joked how he used to tell Princess that she would be a 'nun' when she grew up.

He said, “I'm getting asked constantly about Princess having a boyfriend. What I will say is that I'm really stressed out at the thought.”

He continued, “I'm an overprotective dad. Many of you will remember when I used to joke when the kids were younger that Princess would be a nun!

“But I've learnt I can't treat the girls differently from the boys.”

He added that whatever rules he had for his son Junior, who he also shares with Katie, should be the same for Princess.

Pete said, “Emily taught me that whatever rule I gave to Junior, I had to treat all the other children the same and she has made me look at things differently and change my old-school mentality,” he added.

Earlier this year Pete also spoke about how he’d feel if either Princess or Junior wanted to go on Love Island when they’re older.

“'I've sort of said to them I'd love you to try and present it rather than be a contestant, but then again, I've always said there's some great people who have come from the show,” he said.

“Look at Molly Mae and Tommy – they've done so well, and they've stayed together. So there is a lot of good things that come from it.”
