Private way the Queen will mark Kate Middleton’s ten year anniversary as member of the royal family

Next month marks Kate Middleton and Prince William’s tenth wedding anniversary, which means that the Duchess of Cambridge will celebrate a decade since joining the royal family.

According to royal expert Duncan Larcombe, the Queen is likely to honour her granddaughter-in-law's entry into the royal family. “I think it's highly likely she'll be planning something to honour Kate's 10 years in the royal family,” he explains to OK! “Something she can do to mark it.”

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is mum to Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five and little Louis, one, has a “fantastic” relationship with the monarch, Duncan explains.

He adds: “Kate and the Queen have a fantastic relationship. Kate strikes that balance between bowing to her as the head of the royal family in public but being able to check in with her as the great grandmother to her children. She has her own direct line to the queen.”

According to the expert, it was Kate who taught the queen to use Zoom during the coronavirus pandemic, meaning she has been able to conduct virtual meetings. “They've stayed in touch over video calls,” Duncan explains, “Kate will check in on the Queen and give her updates on the children. But also lean on her for advice.”

It marks a wonderful milestone for future Queen Kate. This week, she and William visited their wedding venue, Westminster Abbey, which has now been turned into a vaccination centre to aid the effort against coronavirus.

The poignant visit saw the couple recreate their walk down the aisle ten years on, with fans comparing pictures from the day to their royal wedding on 29th April 2011.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, wore a stylish off-white knee-length coat dress along with a tanned pair of court heels and matching clutch bag as she stepped out with her husband.

Kate and William, 38,both wore face coverings as they visited the vaccination centre at Westminster Abbeyon the one year anniversary of the lockdown.

Meanwhile, William wore a smart navy suit along with a white shirt, brown tie and black shoes as he walked alongside his wife.

The couple exchanged a loving look as they walked together during the visit.

Kate and William were accompanied by the Dean of Westminster Reverend Dr David Hoyle and Clerk Paul Baumann as they paid tributes to those involved in the vaccine roll out.

The visit came a year to the day that the nation was plunged into the first national lockdown amid the pandemic.

Kate and William’s wedding venue is now helping with the vaccination effort as they are giving jabs to 2,000 people a week in Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.

The couple’s visit came as The Queen sent a bouquet of flowers to the medical staff who treated her husband Prince Philip to share her gratitude,after the 99 year old was released from hospital last week.

Alongside the stunning bouquet of flowers, 94 year old Queen Elizabeth shared a message.

It read: “As we look forward to a brighter future together, today we pause to reflect on the grief and loss that continues to be felt by so many people and families, and pay tribute to the immeasurable service of those who have supported us all over the last year.”
