Sophie Turner has another girls night with Joe Jonas ex Taylor Swift – amid custody row

Sophie Turner, the beloved Game of Thrones star, recently enjoyed a glamorous night out with none other than Taylor Swift. The pair were spotted in New York City, marking the second time they've hung out this week, creating quite a buzz among fans.

This high-profile gathering occurred amidst Sophie's bitter custody battle with her estranged husband, Joe Jonas. The actress, aged 27, is now taking legal action, hoping to relocate their daughters to her native United Kingdom.

However, Sophie seemed to set aside the complexities of her personal life as she arrived at the luxurious Hotel Barriere Fouquet for dinner, just moments before Taylor's grand entrance.

Sophie sported a white T-shirt, a chic grey maxi skirt, and comfortable red satin ballet flats. She carried a colourful quilted Louis Vuitton purse, adding a touch of glamour to her casual ensemble.

Taylor, an ex-girlfriend of Sophie's estranged husband Joe, arrived shortly after in a chauffeured black SUV, flanked by two well-dressed security guards. Taylor looked stunning in a black off-the-shoulder top, paired with light brown trousers, cinched at the waist with a black leather belt.

Completing her sophisticated look, she strolled in black sandals and carried her essentials in a sleek black designer purse.

It was the second outing for Sophie and Taylor this week, as they also enjoyed each other’s company until 2AM during a low-key dinner at Via Carota restaurant. The dynamic duo also indulged in 'martinis and caviar bumps' at the trendy celebrity hotspot known as Temple Bar.

A source toldPEOPLEthat it “cheered [Sophie] up” and that she enjoyed the normalcy of it all.

The insider said: “They were normal. Completely normal. Everyone was all excited, but they were normal. Sophie seemed to be enjoying the night.”

Another continued: “Taylor is a great friend — Sophie can talk to her about anything. It cheered Sophie up to spend time with Taylor.”

All Too Well singer Taylor previously dated Sophie's now-estranged husband back in 2008 but they split after just a few months of dating, with Joe famously ending the relationship with a 25-second phone call.

A decade later, Joe tied the knot with Sophie in 2019, and the pair welcomed two daughters, before Joe filed for divorce earlier this month.

Sophie is now amid a bitter divorce and custody battle, with the actress accusing ex Joe of abducting their children and blindsiding her with his divorce filing.

In her legal documents, Sophie claimed that Joe had refused to return their children's passports, effectively preventing them from traveling to the UK. She sought to have her children returned to England, where she plans to settle with them.

Joe's representatives have released a statement to Page Six where the singer called the lawsuit against him a "harsh legal position" which doesn't align with the co-parenting set up that Joe and Sophie recently discussed when they met up last Sunday.

The rep claimed to the publication: “Less than 24 hours later, Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK. Thereafter, she demanded via this filing that Joe hand over the children’s passports so that she could take them out of the country immediately".

"Joe is seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father, and is of course also okay with the kids being raised both in the U.S. and the UK. This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst. The children were not abducted."
