Vanessa Feltz extremely sad as she splits from fiancé Ben Ofoedu after 16 years together

Vanessa Feltz has confirmed she has split from her fiancé Ben Ofoedu after 16 years together.

The This Morning star, 60, admitted she is "extremely sad" and "disappointed" that the relationship is over.

She told The Sun: "I had thought it might take a bit longer before this came out, because it’s a lot to deal with — a shock like this takes some adjusting to — but I am extremely sad and disappointed that my 16-year relationship with Ben is over.

In high spirits, she added: "Who knew I’d be single at 60? However, ladies, it’s onwards and upwards and I firmly believe that the best is yet to come.

"I hear that Kylie Minogue is single again, so I’m in good company — if she wants to hit the town, hook me up.”

Ben, 50, is thought to have moved out of the pair's £3.5million home in North London.

Vanessa and Ben first met in 2005 after she divorced surgeon Michael Kurer in 2000.

Vanessa – who has daughters Allegra, 37, and Saskia, 34 with her ex – married Michael in 1983 but their marriage ended 17 years later.

It comes after Vanessa pulled out all of the stops for Ben's 50th birthday back in June last year.

The couple celebrated in style in London alongside his loved ones for an extravagant dinner followed by a fun filled night out.

At the time, Ben branded the day – organised by Vanessa – as "incredible" and explained that even Another Level star Dane Bowers, 42, joined in the fun.

He gushed to The Sun: "Vanessa was amazing. She organised this incredible dinner and took me, my brothers and my sisters out to enjoy it."

He continued: "Then, the next day we all went to the London Cabaret Club for something called Throwback Thursdays, and we all got on stage which was really, really good. Dane Bowers came along too and we performed."

Vanessa wrote on Instagram: "Happy 50th birthday to my daring beloved @benofoedu Health happiness love and laughter for the next 50 years #birthday #birthdayboy."
