Ken Bruce has admitted he \u201cstruggled\u201d behind-the-scenes at BBC\u00a0Radio 2 after his divorce from his second wife Anne Gilchrist.<\/p>\n
The dad-of-six, who has since moved on to Greatest Hits radio, had already suffered from the \u201cmassive low\u201d of his first split from ex-wife Fiona Fraser.<\/p>\n
He recalled: \u201cThat was a massive low for me.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt doesn’t come out in work. I actually find work therapeutic. Being on the radio is really helpful.\u201d<\/p>\n
Two years after his devastating divorce from Fiona, Ken married Anne, however, this too was to end in heartbreak for the radio star, as they went on to separate five years later.<\/p>\n
READ MORE: <\/strong> Dawn French’s ‘painful years’ after recreating puddle scene left her in agony<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Despite still finding work a distraction, Ken found that after his second divorce, playing sad songs on-air had started to render him speechless.<\/p>\n In an interview for Gyles Brandreth\u2019s Rosebud podcast, set to be released on September 15, Ken admitted in quotes obtained by MailOnline: \u201cAfter my second divorce, I found that I was playing records, you know sad records, like Roy Orbison’s Crying or something like that, (and it) would really bring me down.<\/p>\n \u201cIt would be a struggle to do the next link. More info<\/p>\n Ken also shared he feels \u201cguilt\u201d over his first marriage, after becoming \u201ctoo absorbed in my work\u201d.<\/p>\n The presenter explained: \u201cTo begin with I was a very good husband, but I think I became not a terrific husband to be honest.<\/p>\n \u201cI got into broadcasting. I think I was too concerned with what I was doing.\u201d<\/p>\n Ken went on to marry for a third time to Kerith Coldham in 2000, with whom he shares three of his children; sons Murray, 21, and Charlie, 15, and a daughter Verity, 18.<\/p>\n The radio personality\u2019s other three children are Campbell, Douglas, and Kate, with the eldest being 42.<\/p>\n The DJ recently underwent a huge change in his professional life, as he left BBC Radio 2 after hosting the broadcaster\u2019s mid-morning show from 1986.<\/p>\n
