Dolly Parton shares why she didn't let Elvis record hit song<\/h3>\n

Dolly Parton revealed she has been wearing a full face of makeup to bed in case of an \u201cemergency\u201d that requires to be camera-ready.<\/p>\n

The country icon made the candid admission about her glamorous looks in her new book, Behind The Seams: My Life In Rhinestones.<\/p>\n

In the book, Dolly explained: \u201cWhen I arrived in LA in the 80s, I started sleeping with my makeup on, partly because of the\u00a0earthquakes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought, \u2018I\u2019m not heading out on the streets without makeup in case there are cameras out there! I\u2019m going to be ready to go!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Dolly ensures her face is cleaned properly in the morning before redoing her makeup – and this is a routine she has at home too.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter when you clean your face as long as you clean it once a day.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter I wake up, I do all the little rituals, and then I start over again and go out every day and look good all day long.’<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is also true back home in Tennessee. I don\u2019t want to go to bed looking like a hag with Carl.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dolly had previously admitted that she never leaves the house without makeup on, and stressed there are no exceptions.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0People: “Death! You’d just have to see me laid out on a stretcher.<\/p>\n

“No, if my husband [Carl Thomas Dean] was sick, or if there was an emergency, of course, I would [leave the house without makeup].”<\/p>\n

Dolly then further quipped that she would still need to “clean up a little” for a mugshot before she was arrested.<\/p>\n

She added: “I’m going to clean up a little if I’m going outside, unless there’s an absolute emergency, and it would have to be pretty serious.<\/p>\n

“I would do it then, but that would be the only way.”<\/p>\n
