MGMT have announced a new album, Loss Of Life, the duo’s first album in five years. As a preview of the album, MGMT released the first single, “Mother Nature.”

Loss of Life is the fifth studio album by MGMT. The 10-track album is set to be released on February 23, 2024, as their label debut on Mom + Pop, and their first studio album since 2018’s Little Dark Age.

The record features a guest appearance by French singer Christine and the Queens, marking the first guest appearance on an MGMT album.

Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser created the 10-track record with producer Patrick Wimberly and longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann.

In a statement, VanWyngarden and Goldwasser said, “All joking aside (never!), we are very proud of this album and the fact that it was a relatively painless birth after a lengthy gestation period, and are happy to be releasing this baby into the world with Mom+Pop. Musically speaking, we are running at around 20% adult contemporary and no more than this, please.”
